Daal Keema is one of my all-time favorite comfort foods, 

friends 💛. 

It’s a perfect blend of protein-rich lentils and juicy minced 

meat, cooked with simple desi spices that fill the kitchen with

 the most comforting aroma. I personally love enjoying daal 

keema with plain boiled rice  the combo is light, filling, and

 super satisfying. 

This dish is not only delicious but also very nutritious, 

making it ideal for everyday meals. Whether it’s a busy 

weekday or a relaxed family lunch, daal keema always

Here’s a Healthy Beef Mince & Chana Dal (Split Chickpea Lentils)

 Recipe for a protein packed and nutritious meal…..

Chana dal, also known as split chickpeas is highly

nutritious  with essential nutrients. It is an excellent source

of plant-based protein making it a great dietary choice for

vegetarians and those looking to increase protein intake.

Rich in dietary fiber, chana dal

supports healthy digestion, promotes gut health and

helps regulate blood sugar levels. This legume is a powerhouse

of vitamins and minerals including B vitamins such as folate 

which is crucial for red blood cell formation and

 fetal development. Chana dal is abundant in iron which supports

 oxygen transport in the blood and helps prevent anemia.

 The low glycemic index of chana dal makes it a diabetes friendly

foodas it helps in controlling blood sugar levels.

Daal Keema Recipe







Ingredients:

  • 500g lean beef mince

  • 1 cup chana dal (split chickpeas), soaked for 1 hour

  • 2 tbsp oil (olive or ghee)

  • 2 onion, finely chopped

  • 2 tomatoes, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1-inch ginger, grated 

  • 4 tsp yogurt 

  • 2 green chilies, chopped (optional)

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp coriander powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1 tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • 2 cups water

  • Fresh coriander leaves ,onion green chili for garnish

Instructions:

In a pot, boil chana dal with 2 cups of water and a pinch of

 salt until slightly tender (not mushy). Drain and set aside.

Now Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them

crackle.

Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

Stir in garlic, ginger and green chilies. Cook for 1-2

minutes.

Add tomatoes, turmeric, coriander powder, red chili

powder

 and salt. Cook until tomatoes soften.

Add the beef mince and cook on medium heat until

 browned and well combined with spices.

Then add cooked chana dal and mix well.

Cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes until flavors blend.

Finish & Serve

  • Sprinkle garam masala ….

  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Onion and

  • green chili

  • Serve hot with roti, rice or  naan!!!!!
