The word biryani comes from the Persian words “birian” 

(fried before cooking) and “birinj” (rice). 

During the Mughal era, biryani evolved into a luxurious 

dish prepared with fragrant rice, meat, spices, and saffron

, especially in royal courts. Over time, local flavors, spices,

 and cooking styles blended with the original recipe, 

giving rise to many regional varieties. In the 

subcontinent, biryani became deeply rooted in culture 

and tradition, especially in areas like Hyderabad, 

Lucknow, Sindh, Lahore, and Karachi. Today, biryani is

 more than just food is a symbol of celebration, heritage,

 and togetherness, enjoyed across generations and

 Boneless Chicken Biryani Recipe 
Lahori Style!!!!!   


Lahori biryani is known for its rich flavors, bold spices and 

aromatic rice.which people like boneless meet surely like 

this biryani most....

Ingredients:

For Chicken Marinade:    
  • 500g boneless chicken 
  • (cut into medium pieces or what ever u want )
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • Salt to taste
For Biryani Rice:
  • 2 cups basmati rice (soaked for 30 minutes)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 2 green cardamoms
  • 1-inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon salt  












For Cooking & Layering:
  • 300g tomatoes
  • 8 green chilies 
  • ( tomatoes and chilies  blend in grander)
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ¼ cup fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
  • ¼ cup fresh mint leaves (chopped)
  • readymade biryani masala 
  • mint , boiled eggs (for garnish)

Instructions:

Marinate the Chicken

    1. In a bowl mix chicken with yogurt, ginger-garlic

     paste,

    1.  red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, 

    coriander powder, 

    1. black pepper, lemon juice and salt.

    2. Let it marinate for at least 1 hour.

 Prepare the Rice

  1. In a pot boil rice with bay leaf, cloves, cardamom, 
  2. cinnamon and salt.
  3. Add soaked rice and cook until 70% done . Drain and set aside.

 Cook the Chicken Gravy

    1. Heat 4 tablespoons of oil in a pan and add

     marinated chicken. 

    1. Sauté until golden brown and then add blended

     tomatoes and .

    1. Cook until softly tender.

 Layering the Biryani

  1. In a heavy bottom pot, spread half of the cooked rice.
  2. Add the chicken gravy, then sprinkle coriander, 
  3. orange or yellow food col,
  4. mint leaves, garam masala and cumin seed.
  5. Add the remaining rice on top .
  6. Cover the pot with a tight lid and cook on low heat 
  7. (Dum) for 15-20 minutes.

 Serve & Enjoy

  • Gently mix the biryani before serving to combine flavors.
  • Serve hot with raita, salad, or mint chutney.
