Capsicum, commonly known as Shimla Mirch or
bell pepper, is one of the most widely used vegetables
in kitchens around the world. Although it belongs to the
chili family, capsicum is not spicy, which makes it suitable
for people of all ages, including kids and elders.
Its mild taste, crunchy texture, and vibrant colors make it
a favorite ingredient in many dishes.
Types of Capsicum and Their Flavors
Capsicum is available in different colors, and each variety
has a slightly different taste and nutritional value:
Green Capsicum:
Slightly bitter and most commonly used
Red Capsicum:
Sweet in taste and rich in Vitamin C
Yellow Capsicum:
Mildly sweet with a pleasant aroma
Orange Capsicum:
Fruity flavor and high in antioxidants
These colorful varieties enhance both the taste and
presentation of food.

Capsicum is loved by home cooks and chefs because
it is extremely versatile:
Can be fried, sautéed, grilled, baked, or eaten raw
Absorbs spices and sauces very well
Maintains its shape and crunch after cooking
Works well in vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes
This flexibility makes capsicum suitable for everyday
meals as well as restaurant-style recipes.

Capsicum is not only delicious but also very nutritious:
Rich in Vitamin C, which boosts immunity
Contains antioxidants that support skin health
Low in calories, making it ideal for weight-loss diets
